Violent attacks on foreign residents have grabbed headlines in South Africa in recent years, with graphic scenes of looting and angry, anti-immigrant protests dominating coverage. But foreign residents of the Rainbow Nation say the headlines obscure a sobering fact: Xenophobic violence never has really gone away here.
